The Lark Fund
The Lark Fund brings musical instruments to Staten Island schools through mini-grants. Funds can be used to purchase or repair instruments for music programs.
Staten Island Arts raises funds for this program through donations from community members. As money for the Arts in our classrooms is harder to obtain, The Lark Fund will help to keep music in student’s lives.
The Lark Fund is open to all Staten Island schools serving grades K-12.
To apply, schools must fill out a short online application along with submitting a recording or photographs representing their programs.
Application deadline TBA.
Awardees are selected by a panel of music educators, teachers, and musicians convened by Staten Island Arts.
Ability to benefit from this award, as measured by:
1/3 clarity of request – can you tell what they are going to do with the award
1/3 impact of the award – is the award likely to make a substantial difference to the music program
1/3 need for the award – does the school and students have adquate resources to purchase instruments
