Staten Island Arts strongly believes that equitable development and planning initiatives involve local community in the planning process. As the local arts council, our staff leads and supports a variety of research and planning initiatives.

Future Culture: Connecting Staten Island’s Waterfront (2014)
Partners: Staten Island Arts; Design Trust for Public Space; Cornell University
This study synthesizes information from the Art Hill Plan (2010), NYC Open Data, US Census, Center for Urban Future, American Community Survey 5-year Estimates (2008-2012), Vision Zero, NYC Map Pluto, and the four major North Shore Development projects (NY Wheel, BFC Partners’ Outlet Mall, Lighthouse Point, and Ironstate’s URL). This study expands the geographical area to include parts of Tompkinsville and Stapleton, in addition to the major development projects planned for the North Shore.
